How does TripsGala decide where I should travel?
TripsGala uses a six-minute ceremony called the Soul Compass to match you with one of six traveler typologies, then builds your journey around that result.
The Soul Compass ceremony
TripsGala decides where you should travel through a six-minute ceremony called the Soul Compass. You answer a short series of questions, and the ceremony places you into one of six traveler typologies: The Catalyst, The Sensualist, The Pilgrim, The Sovereign, The Contemplative, or The Witness. Each typology represents a different way of moving through the world, and your journey is built around that result.
The ceremony takes place before any destination is named. It happens at the beginning of every engagement, whether you are planning four nights or forty days. The questions are not about where you want to go or what you want to see. They reveal how you travel, not where.
The six typologies
The Catalyst seeks motion and transformation. The Sensualist values texture, flavor, and immersion in the immediate. The Pilgrim follows meaning and sacred architecture. The Sovereign requires privacy, refinement, and control over the frame. The Contemplative moves toward stillness and reflection. The Witness observes from a distance, preferring vast landscapes and long horizons.
Your typology does not limit your destination. A Catalyst can travel to Kyoto; a Contemplative can travel to Istanbul. The typology shapes how the journey is structured: the pace, the accommodations, the balance between activity and rest, the moments that matter.
How the journey is built
Once your typology is known, a curator begins assembling your Living Proposal. This is a real, bookable itinerary: flights, hotels, transfers, sightseeing, every detail written and priced. The proposal arrives within 48 hours. You have eight days to refine it. During that window, the itinerary is flexible. You can adjust the pace, swap a hotel, add a day, remove an activity. After eight days, the proposal locks and becomes your confirmed journey.
The typology guides every choice the curator makes. A Sovereign's hotel will have a private terrace and deep quiet. A Sensualist's itinerary will include a spice market, a candlelit table, a cooking class. A Witness will spend more time on trains and balconies than in crowded squares. The result is not a standard package with your name on it. It is a journey shaped around the way you move.
More than a decade of practice
TripsGala has refined this approach for more than a decade, serving travelers who value precision over volume. The Soul Compass is not a personality quiz. It is a diagnostic tool built from years of curatorial practice, and it produces a result the brand can act on. Every journey begins with it, and every journey ends with the Obsidian Token: a small black stone you receive at the end of your trip, marking the completion of what was built for you.
The ceremony is the entry point. No destination is suggested, no hotel is named, no price is quoted until your typology is known. That is how TripsGala decides where you should travel: by understanding how you travel first.
