What The Sovereign is
The Sovereign is one of six travel typologies named at the end of the Soul Compass. It describes someone who needs to stay in charge of their own time.
This is not fussiness. It is usually someone who spends their working life making decisions and has no appetite for being handled on holiday.
How you move
You want options, not instructions. You decide in the moment and expect the trip to keep up. You will happily abandon the plan at eleven in the morning, and you expect that to cost nothing.
You value privacy, you dislike fixed group timings, and you notice immediately when a recommendation is really a commission. Trust, once lost, does not come back on the same trip.
What your journey is built around
Your journey is fully prepared and never imposed. Everything is arranged, confirmed and paid for, and none of it has to be used. Alternatives are held ready in the background rather than handed to you as more decisions to make.
Your curator stays invisible until wanted and reachable within minutes when they are. Nothing depends on you being somewhere at a particular time unless you asked for it.
Freedom on a journey is not the absence of a plan. It is a plan that never has to be obeyed.
